Ceramic is an inorganic material fired at high temperatures with which construction products such as tiles, roof tiles and bricks can be manufactured. It is obtained by mixing clays, sands and other natural raw materials (feldspars, kaolin, quartz, etc.), water and chemical additives in different quantities depending on the type.
Ceramic tiles are slabs of various sizes that are generally produced by industrial pressing or drawing processes. Commercially, they are divided into various types defined by terms such as stoneware, cooked, single-fired, double-fired, etc. From a regulatory point of view, they are subdivided according to the production process and some technical characteristics.
In general, ceramic tiles are used to cover walls and floors both indoors and outdoors, but they can also be used to cover furniture and worktops.
